Imagine disaster strikes: Server crash - hardware failure - software failure, who knows? Do you have complete backups - have they worked? Do you have the appropriate server maintenance contracts? Do you have the appropriate technical resources?
The consequences are at best partial data loss, at worst total loss, but either way down time, one to two days? The cost to your business could be horrific - infinite, perhaps even fatal.
Open Business Systems offer a solution; our Disaster Prevention and Recovery program.
What is it?
It's effectively co-location. We hold a copy of your data on our servers, synchronising daily changes on your systems over night. In an event of a system failure at your end we give you access to your data via your Web browser. You can access your data using our published MS Office applications via our ASP (Applications Service Provision) facilities/send and receive e-mails. We backup and virus check your data on our servers.
How does it work?
OBS install the following at your site:
An broadband circuit into our building
VPN software on your servers
Data is synchronised overnight to the OBS servers over the connection
What happens in the event of a disaster?
Login to your data on OBS systems via any web browser
Work on the data as if your on your own server
OBS will repair your servers in your own time, in the background without affecting your daily tasks
After the disaster
Synchronise any changes back to your repaired server
